The first annual BSVPA fundraising gala was a resounding success. The event, which was held at Los Cocos Restaurant & Bar in Port St Lucie, Florida, brought together supporters of the organization, including donors, volunteers, and community leaders, all united in their shared vision to support BSVPA’s mission.
The room was filled with energy and excitement as guests mingled throughout the night. The event was attended by over 125 guests and featured many activities. The evening began with a cocktail hour which offered a variety of appetizers and wines for the guests to feast on. Later that evening to everyone’s delight, the main course which was prepared by a local Haitian chef was served.
After the cocktail hour the co-hosts for the evening, Bart Garcon and Gustie Labathe Deneau introduced the organization's leadership team. They also gave speeches highlighting the organization's mission and impact, sharing stories and a video of two the families they have helped, and expressing gratitude to the donors and sponsors for their support.
One of the highlights of the evening was a moving live performance by local Haitian musicians Jean Richer Damour playing his guitar and Evens Latortue (Gogo) on the saxophone, who brought the audience to their feet with their music and wonderful animation.
After the live performance, the show continued with DJ Captain Mario behind the turntables capping off an incredible night.
The organization was able to raise a significant amount of funds from the gala thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors. The proceeds from the event will be used to support the organization's programs and initiatives, providing financial assistance, education opportunities to the families who need it the most. BSVPA’s leadership team was thrilled with the outcome of the event, they were heartened by the outpouring of support and generosity demonstrated by everyone who attended the event and look forward to the next fundraiser and the ability to build on this year's success to make an even greater impact in the lives of the people being helped in Haiti.
